So I got into the series called Firefly a while ago on Hulu because I had heard it was good... and they were right. I fell in love with the series and was disappointed that it got canceled, but then I heard there was a movie about it and I always wanted to check it out. Being someone who has kinda lost faith in movies I was skeptical but I needed to see it, bastardized or not.

I finished watching it today... and I cried tears of joy. It was that good to me. Granted that it was a movie more for the fans of the show but it did not in any way try to be any different to appeal to the modern crowd like so many adaptations. It was a movie where I actually felt connected to the characters and actually got me excited to see what will turn out. An awesome movie for a great series, it makes me want to seek it out and buy it just because I love it so much.

While the series became a cult hit and I was disappointed by that, I can't help but feel that that might have made it better. As series go on they tend to get strange and go through changes that sometimes make it less than what it started out to be, so perhaps by staying a cult hit that made it hold on to that charm it always had.

So to conclude, great series, awesome movie! If you are at all a fan of sci-fi you should at least give the series Firefly a try:

OH GOD THEY ARE ALREADY DISAPPEARING. Oh and DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE SERIES, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I need to buy the dvd set and movie or something... and quick!
